Support for adopted young people
Therapies and specialist assessments
When therapy is needed this can include talking therapies where a therapist and you explore your life now, before you lived in your family and any future plans, hopes and fears you may have. If talking feels too difficult, it may be that you prefer a creative therapy which allows you to express your difficult and sometimes painful feelings through play, music, art or something similarly creative.
Sometimes it is not clear what would be helpful so we arrange for a further assessment that can look at different areas of challenge for you and then come up with a plan. Our adoption support workers will help you and your parents put this in place.
